Today marks exactly 600 days since the illegal detention of our revered Leader, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky despite a valid court order for his release. We continue to strongly voice our opposition to the lame excuses forwarded by the government for his continued incarceration, especially the most irrational of all - that of the so-called ‘protective custody’.

The Education Committee of the Islamic Movement, popularly known in Hausa as Lajnar Tarbiyyah da Ilmantarwa, was established and mandated by Sheikh el-Zakzaky (H), to oversee the educational and related activities within the Movement. To its credit were various multifaceted symposia and capacity building programmes meant to improve the socio-economic well being of the society. The 25 the of July 2014 is a remarkable and historic date in the history of the Islamic movement in Nigeria. It was a day when people around the world engaged in mourning for humanity sake.
On the 25th July 2014, like all previous years, members of the Islamic in Nigeria participated in the annual Quds procession, to show a total support for the oppressed people of Palestine. Quds procession is a constant annual programme of the movement in existence for the past 30 years.
The Islamic Movement in Nigeria marked martyrs of Quds 2014 who were killed on 25th of July 2014 by Nigerian Soldiers in Zaria. The remembrance day was marked at Darur Rahma cemetry amidst presence of security operatives deployed to disrupt it in vain. The occasion was attended by large number of people from far and near.
Sheikh Kasimu Umar Sokoto and Sheikh Abdulhameed Bello were among the speakers during the annual event. The security men fired some shots in the sky with the view to disperse the gathering. however, the programme was successfully completed.
