Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria have staged on today Friday, February 17 2017, peaceful protest in Illela Sokoto State calling on the Acting President Prof Yemi Osinbajo to obey court order and release their leader Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his wife Malama Zenatudden Ibraheem.
The protest kick-off at Fudiyya Ilelah, passed through Gwarko Hospital, passed Sokoto Road, forward Hasiha Hospital and ended at Juma’at Mosques Bakin Sanke in Ilelah Sokoto state.
Reports say that the federal government has authorised his transfer to the Kaduna state government in order to be prosecuted
Fears are mounting for the fate of the detained leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim el-Zakzaky, following reports that the federal government has authorised his transfer to the Kaduna state government in order to be prosecuted.
The Federal government is set to hand over Sheikh Zakzaky to Kaduna State for trial any moment from now. This followed the recent signing of papers authorizing this by the Attorney General of the federation (AGF), Malami Abubakar.
Our reliable sources confirmed to us that Kaduna State government had requested for the Sheikh to be handed over for some time now, but it was only recently that the Federal government obliged them.
Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria have staged a fresh peaceful protest in Kano today 16/2/2017 demanding for the immediate and unconditional release of the leader of the Movement Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky as ordered by the high Court in Abuja, the protest ended with a rally at the National Human Right Commission headquarters in Kano.
