The National Assembly has directed its relevant committees to revisit the allegations surrounding continued detention of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.

The Chief Whip, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, said this yesterday, while receiving members of the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement In Nigeria (AFIMN), who were protesting Zakzaky’s detention 125 days after a court ordered his release.

Doguwa said Speaker Yakubu Dogara and Senate President Bukola Saraki, have directed the committees to review the facts of the matter.

Earlier, the leader of the AFIMN, S.I Ahmad recalled the attack on the movement’s settlements in Zaria, Kaduna State in December, 2015 which resulted in several deaths and the arrest of Shaikh Zakzaky and his wife.
