The Federal High Court Adjourned Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky's Case Proceedings.
The federal High Court Adjourned Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky's Case Proceedings.
As earlier fixed, today 20th September, 2016 was the date of the resumption of the court proceedings by the Federal High court 6, in Nigerian Capital City of Abuja for the lingering case of the leader of the Islamic movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Zakzaky.
Unavoidably, the court proceedings did not hold for a reason related to national judges conference that took place in Abuja. For these, all judges were absent in today's court sittings.
Legal practitioners of Sheikh Zakzaky and those of the Government were all present at the court premises, but the case was to be adjourned to 5th October 2016.
While responding to news men, one of the Lawyers of Sheikh Zakzaky, Barrister Festus Okeye further stated the reason for the case adjournment. He also made comment on the previous stance of the Federal government in which they claim serving Sheikh Zakzaky with a 'Protective Custody', while after 9 months of the Zaria Massacre, none of the culprits or perpetrators is said to have been arrested if what they claimed is true. With these, the government does not have any substantive reason for the continues detention of sheikh zakzaky.
