Education Committee Conference Wraps up in Kano

Conference organized by the Education Committee of the Islamic Movement took place at Husaniyyah Kano from Saturday the 22nd to Sunday the 23rd of July 2017. The theme of two day is: Globalization; Interactive sessions with students of foreign universities.
The speakers include prof Isa Hasan mshelgagru, Dr Nuru Azare, Mallam Ibrahim Akil, Sheikh Yaqoub Yahaya among others. Those in attendance are students of IMN studying in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Ghana, Sudan, Mali and Burkina Faso who spoke of their experiences in their respective countries.
The closing lecture was delivered by Sheikh Yaqoub Yahaya Katsina where he started by expounding on the importance of knowledge seeking which he described as the best quality for human because it is with knowledge one can attend to any status in this world and the next.
Mallam yaqoub further stated that the Ummah is need of knowledge, though, the Northern region of Nigeria is known for its knowledge and scholarships.
Nothing can change community than calling to the right path by a people who practiced what they taught, hence the importance of upright character and attitude as did by Scholars by Sheikh Bn Fodio who was trained in Qadiriyyah Sufi path, shekh Yaqoub noted.
So the foundation of change is seeking the acceptance of God in addition to knowledge and for that students should seek for character molding from right teachers where ever they find themselves, Sheikh yaqoub noted, adding that akhalq (upright charecter), irfan(knowledge of Allah) and fikrah saheehah (sound ideology) should be acquired by people who want bring about change in the society..
He concluded by calling on students to ensure that their knowledge benefits Islam and the society.
