BREAKING: A Nigerian, But Descents of Lebanese Was Arrested During Peaceful Free Sheikh Zakzaky Protest in Kaduna.
Following his encouraging remarks during the Qudus Day Remembrance in Kaduna on Sunday, 7th of August, 2016, Sheikh Aliyu Turmidhi, the coordinator of the Kaduna Zone of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, led a mass peaceful protest today, Thursday 11th of August, 2016, in Kaduna.
The protest kicked off at about 2:00 p.m. prompt from NEPA roundabout, along Ahmad Bello Way, the city heart of Kaduna. Large number of brothers and sisters marched the protest under tight security measures. The protest follows Ahmadu Bello Way from NEPA roundabout and terminated at Kano Road, a stone's throw to Gidan Gayu Police Command.
It was a while, after the commence of the protest, a Lebanese descendants in Nigeria joined the Protest in solidarity to the brothers and sisters of the Movement over the arrests of their leader for precisely 8 months. It was just after quitting out from the protest's quo, the Lebanese was apprehended by the security operatives to an unknown destination.
It was also reported to have said that, the security cooperatives were deployed barricading the only way that leads to T/Wada, a stone's throw to the terminating juncture contrary to where the protest was planed to be terminated.
This Lebanese is a Nigerian. He was bourn in Nigeria irrespective of being a descendants of Lebanese parents.
We are therefore, vehemently condemning the unconstitutional arrest of our Lebanese brother who joined the procession in our solidarity.
