The Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu has stated on Tuesday while addressing State House correspondents on the success made by Muhammadu Buhari administration since coming to power in 2015 that the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky is still in detention for his own safety.
The Nigerian Police force tried to stop free Zakzaky protest fin Abuja, the Nigerian capital today the 22nd of may 2017. The protesters, marched to the Headquarters of the National Human Right Commission (NHRC), calling on the commission to do something about the impingement of right and freedom of Sheikh Zakzaky,
his wife and hundreds others in detention for over a year without trial. At the end of the protest, the protesters issued a press statement.
The United States of America through its Deputy Director, Office of West African Affairs, Bureau of African Affairs at the US Department of State, Mr Nathan Holt, stated in Washington that the agenda being pursued by President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration were in line with its expectations. The US took this position even as Nigerians are now facing the worse economic woes ever in the history of the country where not even the Nigeria’s president could be treated at home due to lack of essential healthcare delivery infrastructure.

As part of the birthday celebration activities the Islamic Movement in Nigeria marked the day which coincide with Friday 12th May, 2017 with a protest march in various Nigerian cities like Zaria, Kaduna, Illela, Kano etc calling for the unconditional release of Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky who since December 14th, 2015 have been held by Nigerian security agency despite a Federal High court order of his unconditional release.

The birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (may Almighty Allah hasten his reappearance) is an auspicious feast not only for the Shia, but also for all the justice-seekers and truth-seekers of the world. In fact, the belief in a savior and deliverer of mankind is not only held by the Shia, but by all Muslims as well, whether the Shia or the Sunni. Even non-Muslims hold some kind of belief in a savior.
A biography of the leader of IMN Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) written and compiled by the institute for the compilation and publication of Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky’s works was launched in various Nigerian cities. In Kano city the launching took place on Sunday 7th May, 2017 at Kano Markaz in thousands in attendance and Shaikh Kasim Umar Sakkwato as the special guest speaker.

SHIEK ZAKZAKY DETENTION AND THE BURDEN OF ACCOUNTABLE LEADERSHIP More than 500 days after his illegal detention before which more than a thousand of his followers were mercilessly massacred and buried in mass graves, the Nigerian government has unjustifiably continued to by-pass the law and paid no heed to the various calls by different people and organisations that Sheik Zakzaky should be freed and compensated.
Abul Fadl Abbas foundation of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria have organized a program in Kano to commemorate the the birthday of the flag bearer Sayyid Abul Fadl Abbas (AS), the event took place at Markaz, Kano on Monday 4th Sha'aban 1438AH in the evening. Speakers at the event include Sheikh Sunusi AbdulKadir and Malam Jamil Bauchi, both reminded youths of the necessity to copy from the life of the warrior Abul Fadl Abbas (AS).
We have noted in the last few days the malicious suggestions linking the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) with terrorism and violence in several official quarters. Notable ones include the Kaduna state governor, Nasiru elRufai, who in a television program recently, malevolently suggested that Sheikh Zakzaky and the Movement are violent.
He went further spitefully to use a derogatory word to describe our leader, with which he hoped we would react and they would use that as a premise to unleash violence in our name.
The grand finale of the annual Imam Aliy (AS) mauluds that was undertaken by the youth forum of the IMN in Kano, Nigeria was marked on Sunday 3rd Sha’aban 1438 (30/4/2017) at Markaz Kofar Waika, Kano with Mal Badamasi Ya’quob, Professor Dahiru Yahya and Mal Sunusi AbdulKadir Koki as guest speakers. Mal Bashir Dan Dago, Mal Mustapha Limanci and Mal Uzairu Badamasi were amongst the few poet that electrify the atmosphere with beautiful songs of our Noble Prophet (SAWA), Imam Aliy (AS), Sayyida Fatimatul Zahra (AS), Ahlul Bait (AS) and His Pious servants.
Joint FORA Committee of the IMN under the leadership of his Eminence Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) has held a 1st seminar on Zaria massacre at Kano markaz of the IMN on Saturday, 29th April, 2017 with many in attendance from across the country. Mal Rabiu Funtua, Mal Abbare Gombe, Mal Abubakar Abdullahi, Mal Badamasi Yaquob and Mal Sunusi AbdulKadir Koki made presentations on different topic at the seminar that drew the heart of participants to many lessons.
